2021.12 – santa story

As with many families, past holiday seasons brought my immediate family together. Six young grandsons provided a lot of excitement. Opening presents resulted in a floor full of paper, ribbons, boxes, toys, and a kids’ free-for-all. Parents and relatives learned new self-defense strategies.

This year Zoom and other Internet communications only provide facial interaction. As we’ve adapted, so has someone else! Because the reindeer are quarantined, the North Pole’s residents came up with their own adaptations.

Santa Claus purchased a Mercedes Daimler-Benz high-tech sled. The sled is powered by robotic reindeer fueled by atomic energy. Rudolph’s nose shines as usual while also serving as a directional tool using satellites.

Santa also figured out how to challenge that other giant of delivery services. He borrowed one-million stars from the Milky Way. They’re programmed to deliver loads of presents to homes at nighttime. The fast and accurate stars funnel down the chimney, arrange the presents under the tree, collect the cookies for Santa, and go back up to deliver another load. This uses five seconds of time.

Santa sits back with his rum egg nog while his genius plan is put to work. I guess it’s good for him, but I think it’s still more fun to have people together. As long as I can hide until someone else does the dishes.

Happy Holidays
